Friendly Visitor 

The Guardianship Project (TGP) Friendly Visitor program will introduce you to a TGP client in their home or living in a care setting—one who greatly appreciates your visits and companionship. Our clients are over the age of 18, may have a disability, may be elderly, might not have family or friends’ involvement, and would benefit from your visits.

The Guardianship Project’s Friendly Visitor program allows volunteers the opportunity to visit our clients once weekly. TGP matches volunteers with clients for a minimum of 6 months. Our clients reside either in their homes in the community or in facilities around Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens. The TGP Volunteer Coordinator will introduce you to a client with mutual interests and facilitate your initial visit.

A background check and references are required, as well as orientation and ongoing training.
