Vera Institute of Justice

Adair leads Vera’s Legal Department, which provides comprehensive in-house legal services to the organization that include risk management, contracting, compliance, advice on personnel matters, and development of organizational policy. As secretary to Vera’s Board of Trustees, Adair advises the board on corporate governance. Adair joined Vera as the 2010-2011 Rockefeller Brothers Fund Fellow in Nonprofit Law and rose through the ranks as assistant and associate general counsel before becoming corporate and now general counsel. She received her AB from Princeton University and her JD from New York University School of Law, where she was a student research fellow at the National Center on Philanthropy and the Law. She is member of the New York City Bar Association’s Nonprofit Organizations Committee.
