Alex Roth
Alex is a senior program associate in Vera’s Center on Sentencing and Corrections, where he contributes to Vera’s work to reform bail practices and reduce the use of pretrial incarceration. Prior to joining Vera, Alex spent over a decade with the New Hampshire Public Defender, representing indigent clients accused of juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony offenses, and was a member of the administrative team for a local mental health court program. He is admitted to the bar in New York and New Hampshire, and has also done criminal appellate work in both states, including arguing a case before the New Hampshire Supreme Court. Alex has a JD from Columbia University, an MA in art history from Harvard University, and a BA in art history from Vassar College.
