Hannah Eddy is the communications manager for the Unlocking Potential initiative. In this role, she manages strategic communications to help promote the expansion of high-quality postsecondary education programs in prisons and the successful implementation of Pell reinstatement for all people in prison, which became law in December 2020. Prior to joining Vera in 2021, Hannah managed communications and outreach for Sanctuary for Families, one of New York’s leading service providers and advocates for survivors of gender-based violence. In this role, she coordinated Sanctuary’s external relations, including community outreach and state-level advocacy efforts. Prior to her time at Sanctuary for Families, Hannah coordinated fundraising, communications, and film engagement for 3 Generations, a nonprofit organization that documents stories of human rights abuses through film. Hannah holds a bachelor’s degree from American University where she studied history and anthropology.
