Vera Institute of Justice

Lucila is a senior research associate with Vera’s Advancing Universal Representation initiative. Prior to joining Vera, Lucila was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Politics at the University of Virginia and a research consultant at Stanford's Immigration Policy Lab. She earned her PhD from the Department of Political Science at Stanford University, and her BA from the University of California, San Diego. Lucila's work explores U.S. political behavior and immigration attitudes, particularly with regard to public support for universal legal representation for people facing deportation in the United States. She also works to understand the impact of universal legal representation programs on people, families, and communities.
